Financial Modeling Workshops

On February 4th and 11th earlier this semester, the Wall Street Club partnered with NDIGI to host its first ever Financial Modeling Workshop series for sophomores and juniors. Private equity and investment banking professionals, including recent alumni Andrew Lee (Credit Suisse), Connor Milligan (Credit Suisse), and Wayne Huang (Greenhill), returned to campus to teach a course on building the barebones of an LBO model. Freshman & Sophomore Networking Trek to New York alongside the NDIGI

Over the weekend of January 7-8th  during winter break, the Wall Street Club hosted its annual Freshman and Sophomore Networking Trek to New York. Over the course of two days, students had the opportunity to meet with private equity, investment banking, securities, and investment management professionals at Bank of America, Citi, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and the Blackstone Group. Each year, students are very happy with the outcome of the trip, as Notre Dame alumni provide clarity to their jobs and highlight the differences among career paths in the financial sector. Private Equity Panel

On Friday, April 15th, the Wall Street Club hosted its first annual Private Equity panel in the Mendoza College of Business. Nick Weido, a Notre Dame class of 2012 graduate and current associate at Genstar Capital in San Francisco, helped to organize the panel. The panel consisted of Notre Dame graduates and former Wall Street Club members who are in their first or second years as Private Equity associates. Wall Street Club Trip to New York

Engineering Panel

Senior STEM majors Enrique Marquex, Jack Larson, and Kent Zier led a meeting for underclassmen engineers on Tuesday, February 23rd.  The focus of the meeting was to introduce young STEM majors to possible career paths in finance and business.  The meeting started with an overview of careers on Wall Street, including Investment Banking, Sales and Trading, and Investment Management.  The meeting continued with the seniors detailing how the work in business overlaps with the skills learned as an engineer, and finished with steps STEM majors can take to prepare for an internship on Wall Street.  The seniors were really able to relay their previous experiences to the underclassmen, giving them first hand accounts for why they started a career in finance.…

New York Winter Break Trip

On January 7th and 8th, the Notre Dame Wall Street Club led a networking trip to New York City to learn more about the internship opportunities and culture of some of the top investment banks.  Brian Willis and Will Kelly led 23 Sophomores and Freshmen to Goldman Sachs, Citi, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and Blackstone.  The goal was to expose kids to the opportunities at each of the firms and educate them on what each division of a bank does.  Through talks with MDs, roundtable discussions and tours of trading floors, students were able to grow their Wall Street network by speaking with ND representatives at each bank in Investment Banking, Sales and Trading, Asset Management and Private Equity.…

Sales & Trading meeting

On Tuesday October 27th, the Wall Street Club hosted a Sales and Trading meeting directed at freshmen, sophomore, and juniors who were interested in a career path in Sales and Trading. Wall Street Club VP Matt Castellini hosted the meeting along with several other seniors who had completed a summer internship in Sales and Trading and are returning full-time. Each senior talked about their unique experience working on a trading floor and the meeting explored some of the different products and desks that are featured at each Bulge Bracket bank. The experienced seniors gave tips on how to prepare for interviews, spoke about what their day-to-day job was like, and answered questions about their respective product group and internship experience. …
